As part of our English units of work, this half-term we have been looking at poetry. Year 6 began this unit of work by engaging in a poetry workshop that focused on World Wars and poppies.
This was an interactive and drama-based workshop, that encouraged pupils to perform verses of World War poetry.
6H were able to engage and draw meaning through performance poetry.
This half-term pupils have been developing their poetry skills and have written poems, drawing on powerful images and literary techniques to create poems about a chosen setting or focus.
