Science

March 02, 2023

In Science this half term, we are learning about how plants and trees grow, the parts of a plant/tree, their functions, and what they need to be healthy. Today the children had fun using magnifying glasses to look closely at the parts of the plants. They particularly enjoyed being able to handle the plants, and were surprised to see how many roots grow beneath the soil. We then drew a picture of a plant and labelled it in our Science books, writing short sentences to describe what each part does. The children took great care when handling the plants, as they knew they would be planting them in the ‘Quiet Area’ of the school later this week. We can’t wait to observe the plants as they (hopefully) continue to flourish and grow. Well done 1E!
