The Sky

December 01, 2022

As part of our English this have term we have been looking at poetry.

This started with a workshop run by West End Theatres in Schools where the children explored some of the poetry that was written during the First World War.

We then went on to look at the use of descriptive language to create images about nature before moving on to think about the sky.

The children created their own watercolour picture of the sky and then using the poem, Don’t Be Scared by Carol Ann Duffy as a basis.

The poems that the children wrote are fabulous as many have been sent home with them.
