Afternoon Tea in Reception!

In our cultural morning today we talked about some of the foods we eat in the United Kingdom. Most children recognised the roast dinner and the cooked breakfast. We learned about the traditional afternoon tea. We had lots of fun playing with the toy food and tea set.

In the afternoon we had our very own afternoon tea. We each had a cup of tea, cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off and a scone with jam (also known as a “jam burger”). Most children were very happy to try these foods, and some of them ate it all up! We wished the King and Queen could have visited as we were all trying to use our very best table manners. 🤴👸
